Robin Dutta to Lead Local Solar for All

WASHINGTON, D.C. —  Local Solar for All (LS4A), a coalition of rooftop solar and community solar organizations, announced today that it has appointed a new Campaign Director, Robin Dutta. Focused on creating a modern and equitable distributed energy grid, LS4A works to amplify the benefits of smaller, distributed energy resources that produce power closer to the homes and communities where it's being used.

Dutta has more than a decade of experience directing federal energy- and climate-related efforts for organizations committed to enhancing renewable energy markets and to making environmentally sustainable practices affordable to all consumers. He comes to LS4A from SunPower Corporation, where Dutta served as a senior member of their Policy & Strategy team, first leading their state affairs outreach on the east coast and then leading all federal affairs in Washington, D.C.

“Distributed, local solar power provides added energy and financial security to families and businesses across the United States. I am eager to lead Local Solar for All’s work to advocate for policies that afford all energy consumers greater and equitable access to affordable, reliable, renewable energy,” said Dutta, “The Inflation Reduction Act has created once-in-a-lifetime momentum, now we need state and local governments to adopt policies that unlock access to solar and energy storage solutions for all who wish to adopt them.”

Dutta’s recent responsibilities included congressional outreach, focused on the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act, as well as spearheading the company’s executive branch engagement, including the White House and the Department of Energy.

"With the enactment of the IRA and the growing importance of distributed solar and storage, Local Solar for All is set to play an integral role in educating policymakers and helping to create the clean energy grid of the future," said Jeff Cramer, CEO of the Coalition for Community Solar Access. "Robin is the right person to lead it with his deep energy expertise, strategic instincts, and the will to take on difficult challenges."

In his role with LS4A, Dutta will manage the coalition’s work to educate lawmakers and regulators about the benefits of distributed energy, promote federal and state policies supporting the accelerated deployment of local solar and storage, and help to implement specific provisions of the IRA related to distributed energy resources.
